The Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars football teams missed a golden opportunity to host their CAF Championship preliminary games at The Heart Stadium. This was due to the ZIFA Normalisation Committee’s failure to ensure the stadium met the required standards.
Despite having the chance to showcase the 5,000-seater stadium, the committee slept on duty and never bothered to have the facility inspected. This oversight has left many wondering about the committee’s commitment to developing football in the country.
In a recent parliamentary committee meeting, ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairman Lincoln Mutasa admitted to being unaware that CAF conducts inspections of such facilities.
