Zimbabwean Content Creator Marshall Ganyau Found Dead After Hijacking in Cape Town
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Marshall Ganyau, a 30-year-old Zimbabwean digital content creator and pastor, has been found dead after a hijacking incident in Delft, South Africa. His death comes just days after he arrived in Cape Town to visit acquaintances.
Ganyau, who was the creative force behind the popular platform Bhoo Here TV, was abducted by three men while visiting a friend on September 7. The attackers forced him into his own car at gunpoint before driving him to Philippi, where his vehicle was later found stripped, but without Ganyau.
A Nightmare for the Family
Ganyau’s brother, Elvis Chibvuri, recounted the harrowing experience of trying to find his brother. According to Chibvuri, the family’s ordeal began when they struggled to open a missing person’s case due to a witness’s fear of coming forward. The witness had seen the men force Ganyau into the car but was hesitant to speak out
“Marshall was a content creator and a pastor. He had just arrived in Cape Town from Zimbabwe last week.
“He went to meet someone in Delft, and according to a witness, he was speaking with the person when three men approached, took his car keys, and pushed him into the car at gunpoint,” Chibvuri explained.
Despite their efforts, the family was devastated when Ganyau’s body was found at Salt River Mortuary on Monday.
Awaiting Closure
As the family prepares for funeral arrangements, they are left grappling with the senseless loss of a man who was not only a spiritual leader but also a rising content creator.
“We are still waiting for the police so we can see his body and start the funeral preparations,” Chibvuri shared.
The investigation into Ganyau’s murder is ongoing, and the police are waiting for more details from the local authorities.
