Details of the Incident

According to Principal Prosecutor Milton Moyo, the confrontation occurred on July 19, 2025, when the younger teen was at the shopping centre to access school assignments.

“The suspect allegedly confronted the victim about a rumoured romantic involvement,” Moyo explained to the court. “The verbal exchange escalated, resulting in the accused allegedly producing a knife and inflicting a chest wound.”

Emergency services transported the injured teenager to Mpilo Hospital, where medical staff treated the serious but non-fatal injury.
