The tragic story of a Zimbabwean man murdered over a love triangle continues to unfold, with new and unexpected twists coming to light.

Emmanuel Muhamba was killed on 5 April in Sandton, Johannesburg, reportedly over a romantic dispute involving a woman named Ntombizodwa. It’s alleged that both Emmanuel and a Ugandan man were dating her at the same time. The Ugandan, who is now accused of Emmanuel’s murder, apparently snapped over the situation.

Police confirmed the case is being handled at the Sandton Police Station, filed under murder docket number 138/04/2025. The gruesome incident happened around 4:30 PM near the Mzanzi Building at the corner of 12th Avenue and Rivonia Road.

Authorities say Emmanuel was first hit twice by a Ford Ranger, and then the driver ran him over several more times in what appears to have been a deliberate act.

It has since emerged that the suspected killer is a mechanic, and the vehicle used in the crime reportedly belonged to one of his clients. In a surprising twist, a man claiming to be his former employer has spoken out about the aftermath and how the tragedy has strangely brought more attention to his business.

In a TikTok video, social media user Nyasha Musika revealed that business at the workshop had unexpectedly surged. At first, he was puzzled by the sudden increase in customers. But after digging deeper, he found out that the unfortunate incident was the one bringing clients to his garage.

He said:

“Honestly, it’s insane when I think about the fact that my old mechanic like literally unalived someone. Like it’s crazy because I know I’ve been wondering, ‘Why has business been booming? Why have we have been seeing a little bit more traction, converting a little bit better?’ And surprise, surprise this nigga has basically closed the shop because he’s kinda on the run and then I’m looking into this and I’m like, ‘It couldn’t have been that bad’ and then I saw that video. Then I saw that this thing went viral. Business has started picking up, but I do kinda feel bad about it.”
