Background
The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ), a statutory body established under the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act (MASCA) [Chapter 15:03], is mandated to ensure the safety, efficacy, and quality of medicines and allied substances in Zimbabwe. As part of its regulatory responsibilities, MCAZ conducts inspections of pharmacies to ensure compliance with ethical, professional, and legal standards.
To strengthen its inspection systems, MCAZ, in collaboration with UNDP-Zimbabwe, seeks a qualified individual consultant to design and implement an Electronic Local Inspections System. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and alignment with the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) requirements for Maturity Levels 3 and 4.
Assignment Description:
The selected consultant will be responsible for:

Developing standardized pharmacy inspection protocols and tools.

Designing and implementing a digital inspection system.

Providing capacity-building support and training for inspectors.

Aligning tools and systems with both local regulatory requirements and international best practices, including WHO GBT standards.
Duration of Assignment: 75 days
