Rachel Kolisi, the estranged wife of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, has opened up about her fear as the Tokai fires raged across Cape Town’s Table Mountain National Park. Sharing her experience on Instagram, Rachel posted a video showing her children—whom she shares with Siya—sleeping, before panning the camera to reveal flames glowing on the mountainside.
“This is honestly one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced 
. Definitely no sleep for me today,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
She later posted another update at 04:49 am, showing that the fires were still burning.

Rachel Kolisi later reassured her followers that her family and home were safe amid the raging Tokai fires. Taking to Instagram, she expressed immense gratitude to firefighters, her community, and close friends who supported her through the ordeal.
“The season that keeps giving 
. We are all safe (thank God) our home is safe. So grateful for our firefighters, community and SPECIALLY @carliannsmithy and Dale – honestly no way I would have managed the last 24 hours without you ,” she wrote.
“Exhausted, and hope I’m not speaking to soon but I think the worst is over 
,” she continued.
