6 people are dead after a bus that was travelling from Francistown, Botswana to Harare overturned in Gweru.

Authorities confirmed the heartbreaking loss included five adults and one infant. Gweru District Police Chief, Chief Superintendent Leon Marongedza, stated the accident occurred as the driver attempted to navigate a traffic circle along the busy route.

“We can verify six fatalities, including a young child, resulting from the bus overturning during traffic circle negotiation. Our investigative team is currently processing the scene,” stated Chief Superintendent Marongedza.

Police forensic teams and traffic investigators are investigating at the accident site to determine the exact circumstances leading to the catastrophic rollover. Early reports suggest possible factors may include driver error, mechanical failure, or road conditions.
