Two High Ranking Security Agents Killed In Masvingo Mutimurefu Accident

Two high-ranking security agents were killed last night in a vehicle pile-up accident at Mutimurefu in Masvingo.

The devastating road accident has claimed the lives of two senior security personnel in a catastrophic chain-reaction collision near Mutimurefu Prison yesterday evening.

According to Masvingo Mirror reports, the accident occurred along the road close to Mutimurefu prison facilities.

Two Security Agents Die In Pile-Up Accidents

Authorities confirm the victims as Gift Nyama, a high-ranking Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) official from Gutu, and Masimba Blessing Mandimutsira, a Principal Correctional Officer at Mutimurefu Prison.

The tragic incident occurred at approximately 7:30 PM at a known accident-prone section of the Masvingo-Mutare Highway.

Preliminary reports indicate Nyama’s vehicle collided with an unlit, stationary tractor that lacked proper reflectors while returning from a farewell gathering at 4/2 Brigade in Mpandawana. As prison officials, including Mandimutsira, responded to the initial crash, a Ford Ranger driven by Chief Superintendent Simangaliso Dube (Officer Commanding Masvingo Central District) swerved to avoid the scene but tragically struck Mandimutsira.
