According to reports, Churchill Boys High School Dormitories were burnt to ashes this afternoon.
According to school authorities, the fire has completely destroyed three dormitory buildings at Churchill Boys High School. The afternoon inferno reportedly originated from a combination of gas leakage and electrical system failure.

School headmaster Mr. Aquanose Mavhunga confirmed the disaster occurred precisely at 3:00 PM local time. Firefighters responded promptly to the emergency call and successfully contained the flames within thirty minutes of arrival.
Mavhunga spoke to the Herald team.
“Three dormitories were burnt to ashes. Yes, we informed the Fire Brigade, and they managed to extinguish the fire after 30 minutes,” he said.

Student Belongings Lost in Inferno
The rapid spread of the fire resulted in significant personal losses for boarding students. The flames consumed essential items, including school uniforms, bedding materials, storage containers, and other personal effects, before evacuation could be completed.
School administrators have initiated preliminary evaluations, but confirm the full extent of property damage remains unquantified.
“We’re currently compiling comprehensive inventories to determine replacement costs and immediate student needs,” added Mavhunga
