Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Marshall Munetsi has described his equalizing goal against Brentford on the final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season as a “special” moment.
The 75th-minute strike, a first-time shot from outside the box, helped Wolves secure a 1–1 draw at Molineux.
The goal, assisted by Jørgen Strand Larsen, marked Munetsi’s second goal for the club since joining from Stade de Reims in the January transfer window.

Speaking after the match, Marshall Munetsi shared his excitement, saying:
“It was a special one. I’ve been practicing scoring such goals for a long time. With all the chances I’ve had, today felt even more special.”
The goal capped off a solid personal start to life in the Premier League for the Warriors vice-captain, who has quickly become a key figure in the Wolves midfield.
Wolves Secure Safety After Rocky Start
The result ensured a 16th-place finish for Wolves with 42 points, comfortably avoiding relegation by an 18-point margin. It was a remarkable turnaround for a side that had struggled in the first half of the season.
Much of the credit has gone to manager Vitor Pereira, who took over mid-season and played a key role in stabilizing the squad and bringing in Munetsi during the January window.

Reflecting on Wolves’ progress under Pereira, Munetsi said:
“I think he (Vitor Pereira) has created a family environment and given players the confidence to win games.The first half of the season was more challenging, but tactically, we’ve been solid and have improved defensively. We’ve managed to concede fewer goals than we used to and been clinical in front of the goal.”
