13 Youths Arrested at a Wild Vuzu Party in Bulawayo
Thirteen youths have been arrested in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, after being caught at a Vuzu party.
The group was caught red-handed indulging in alcohol, drugs, and engaging in unprotected tlof tlof.

The Vuzu party was hosted by 21-year-old Thabiso Sibanda at house number 5580 in Cowdray Park. The seven-roomed, gated property—protected by a durawall—had no adult supervision at the time
Police stormed the house shortly after midnight on 24 May 2025, after officers on patrol heard loud music and shouting coming from the premises.
Police Confirms Arrest
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the arrest to B-Metro saying:
“We proceeded to the house and arrested 13 individuals who were attending the Vuzu party.”
Names of Arrested Youths Released as Investigations Continue
Police have released some of the names of the 13 individuals arrested during the Vuzu party bust. The group includes teenagers and young adults aged between 17 and 21. Among those named are:

Kingstone Mufunda (17)

Mbongeni Shoniwa (17)

Melissa Ncube (18)

Princess Khumalo (18) from Emganwini
Others are reportedly from Pumula South and Nkulumane 5. All 13 have since been charged, and investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

Police Express Concern and Warn Parents as Vuzu Parties Fuel Teen Substance Abuse
Inspector Msebele has raised alarm over the rise in Vuzu parties, warning that these gatherings pose a serious threat to the wellbeing of young people.
She called for increased parental supervision and community vigilance to curb the spread of these dangerous Vuzu parties.
“We urge parents to monitor their children’s activities. These parties are not just a threat to moral behaviour but are breeding grounds for substance abuse and risky sexual behaviour.”
