Zimbabwean actor Chrispen Nyathi has paid tribute to South African star Presley Chweneyagae following his sudden and untimely death.
Renowned actor Presley Chweneyagae passed away on 27 May 2025 at the age of 40. His family confirmed that he died of natural causes.

Nyathi and Chweneyagae Starred Together in Cobrizi, a River Spin-off
Chrispen Nyathi, who is based in South Africa, had been working alongside Presley Chweneyagae on the spin-off series Cobrizi, named after Chweneyagae’s character, Thuso ‘Cobra’ Mokoena.
The 13-episode dramedy is a spin-off from the telenovela The River, and it follows Cobra as he attempts to turn his life around.
Chrispen Shares Joyful Dance Video with Late Presley Chweneyagae
Taking to his Instagram, Chrispen Nyathi shared a lighthearted video of himself dancing energetically with the late Presley Chweneyagae and Ishmauel Songo.
The trio, dressed in morning gowns, were seen having fun on the set of Cobrizi as they took part in the viral Cash Kontant challenge.

Chrispen Nyathi Recalls Presley Chweneyagae’s Humble Nature Behind the Scenes
Captioning the video, Chrispen Nyathi paid tribute to the late Presley Chweneyagae, sharing a heartfelt anecdote about working with him.
Nyathi revealed that he and others had unknowingly worked alongside Chweneyagae without realising he was the executive producer.
