Prince Kaybee Says “I’m So Scared” As He Battles Memory Loss

Award-winning South African DJ and producer Prince Kaybee has left fans shocked after opening up about a mysterious brain condition that is causing him to suffer from serious memory loss.

“I suffer from SERIOUS AMNESIA and I am a bit emotional and frustrated at how my memory is deteriorating man,” the hitmaker tweeted on Monday morning, 2 June 2025.

The artist, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, said the condition has become a heavy emotional burden, especially given his family responsibilities.

“I am scared this will lead to missing life opportunities which will make me very incompetent and I HATE THAT,” he said.

“I have some underlying condition affecting my brain (experts say), I wonder how long I can keep what is left of my memory bank.”

“I’m so scared, it’s rocking me”

Just before midday on Monday, Prince Kaybee took to X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the situation is taking a personal toll:

“Not gnna lie, this is rocking me man, I have kids to raise 💔

When a fan sympathised, sharing their own struggles with memory loss, Kaybee responded:

“Man I’m so scared, it’s really rocking me 💔

Other followers reached out with advice and comfort. One asked if he smoked marijuana. He replied bluntly:

“I have never smoked weed.”

Another fan urged him to “take it easy,” to which Kaybee responded:

“How do I do that with so much responsibilities?”

The tweets have now gone viral, with over 22,600 views on his first post and 3,650 views on his follow-up at the time of writing.

Memory disorders in the spotlight

According to HopkinsMedicine.org, memory loss and amnesia can stem from a wide range of causes — some treatable, others more serious. These include medication side effects, metabolic issues, and brain-related syndromes such as Korsakoff’s syndrome.

While Prince Kaybee did not disclose the specific diagnosis, he did say medical experts have identified an “underlying condition affecting [his] brain.”

Health experts stress that memory loss doesn’t automatically mean dementia. Early diagnosis and treatment can make a big difference.

Kaybee’s openness has sparked a wider conversation on social media, with others sharing similar experiences. Fans have praised his bravery for being candid about a topic many shy away from.

“I wonder how long I can keep what’s left of my memory”

While there is still uncertainty surrounding his condition, one thing is clear: Prince Kaybee is deeply concerned about how this will affect his future — both personally and professionally.

“I wonder how long I can keep what is left of my memory bank ☹💔

As the music star navigates this challenging journey, fans and followers continue to rally behind him.
