Acclaimed photographer and jazz visionary Rashid Lombard has died.
He passed away today, surrounded by his loved ones.

Rashid Lombard was more than just a celebrated photographer and jazz promoter — he was also a passionate cultural activist.
He was best known for founding espAfrika, the events company behind the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
Lombard launched the iconic festival in 2000, and under his leadership, it grew into the largest jazz festival on the African continent. He remained at the helm until his retirement in 2014.
