PSL Charges Chicken Inn Over Abandoned Match Against Scottland FC
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has formally charged Chicken Inn following the dramatic end to their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 13 clash against Scottland FC, which was abandoned just a minute before full time.
Chaos Erupts After Controversial Penalty Decision
The chaos unfolded on Friday, 23 May 2025, at Rufaro Stadium when referee Quedsani Dirwai awarded a late penalty to Scottland FC. He ruled that Chicken Inn defender Dominic Jaricha had handled the ball in the box — a decision that sparked furious protests from Chicken Inn players.
Their strong reaction delayed the game significantly, with players reportedly refusing to continue for a while. By the time they agreed to proceed with the penalty, daylight had faded, and goalkeeper Bernard Donovan refused to play, citing poor lighting conditions.
With no clear resolution and growing safety concerns, the match was ultimately abandoned before the penalty could be taken.
