Late actor Presley Chweneyagae was laid to rest on Saturday, June 7, during an emotional funeral ceremony held at the Akasia Community Hall in Pretoria. The actor passed away on May 27 at the age of 40 following respiratory complications.
The funeral came after two memorial services – one in his hometown of Mahikeng, North West, on Tuesday, June 5, and another at the South African State Theatre.
Chweneyagae was buried at Zandfontein Cemetery, as friends, family, and colleagues gathered to say their final goodbyes.

“Presley and I enjoyed kissing each other so much. You can laugh, take it to your family. Presley and I used to kiss so much because that’s how we genuinely showed and shared love. We kissed so much..We kissed more than seven times. The White people in the studio were shocked, like, ‘What’s happening with these two Black boys?’ That’s how much love he poured into my life. That’s how much love we poured into each other,” he said.
