UK-Based Zimbabwean Man Hit with 10 Additional Charges in Child Abuse Case

A 33-year-old Zimbabwean man living in the UK is facing even more trouble as a disturbing sexual offences case against him continues to unfold.

Arrests and Initial Charges

Walter Chahwanda, of Plemonstall Court, is currently behind bars and awaiting trial. He was first arrested in February 2024, then again in March 2025, and things have only gone downhill from there.

Back in March, Chahwanda was slapped with an eye-popping list of 11 charges, including:

  • Rape

  • Assault by penetration

  • Cyber flashing

  • Five counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15

  • Sexual communication with a child

  • Causing a child to watch a sexual act

  • Blackmail

But just when it seemed like the case couldn’t get any darker, UK authorities have now authorised ten more charges—this time involving multiple victims.

The new charges include:

  • Blackmail

  • Two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child

  • Six counts of malicious communications

  • Causing a child to view a sexual act

Chahwanda remains in custody and is expected to stand trial in September.

He last appeared before Liverpool Crown Court in April, after an earlier hearing at Liverpool Adult Remand Court in mid-March. For now, he’s not going anywhere—except to court.
