Miracle Escape: British Passenger Only Survivor in Deadly Air India Plane Crash That Killed Over 240 People
Authorities have confirmed that just one person survived the Air India plane crash that killed at least 240 people.
40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who was seated in 11A, miraculously made it out alive from the wreckage of the London-bound flight.

One Survivor Confirmed in Air India Crash
Indian Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that Ramesh was the only passenger to make it out alive and added that he personally visited him at the hospital.
Dr. Dhaval Gameti, one of the doctor’s who attended to Vishwash Kumar Ramesh provided an update on his condition, stating;
“He was disoriented with multiple injuries all over his body. But he seems to be out of danger,” Dr. Dhaval Gameti revealed.
Survivor Recalls Escaping Through Fire and Smoke
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was seated away from his brother—who remains missing. According to reports, Ramesh managed to escape through a breach in the fuselage shortly after impact.
Video footage shared on social media shows him walking toward an ambulance, visibly injured, with thick smoke billowing in the background.
Speaking out after the crash, Ramesh said:
“There was a huge bang just seconds after takeoff. I ran through smoke and fire.”
He is one of the only sole confirmed survivor so far.
Deadly Crash Claims Lives of Passengers and Students on Ground
At least 240 people have been confirmed dead following the tragic crash of an Air India passenger plane in Ahmedabad. Officials fear the toll could rise, as the aircraft struck several buildings shortly after takeoff, including a college hostel.
Among the deceased are multiple medical students who were residing at the B.J. Medical College hostel when the plane plummeted into the structure. Authorities continue to search the rubble for more victims, with concerns that many remain unaccounted for.
