Senior Software Engineer (Oracle ADF Specialist)

Old Mutual Insure is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to become a key contributor within our Policy Administration System (PAS) team. If you’re passionate about enterprise software solutions and thrive in Agile environments, this role is for you.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle from solution design and ADF development to implementation, testing, system enhancement, and documentation. You will be joining a dynamic, cross-functional team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, and maintain Oracle ADF components and Oracle Forms
Work collaboratively within a high-performing Agile and DevOps environment
Engage in performance tuning, monitoring, and optimizing system performance
Translate business requirements into technical solutions through regular collaboration with analysts and stakeholders
Conduct rigorous unit, integration, and functional testing
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
Assist in secure coding practices and ensure compliance with security standards

Your Technical Toolbox

Advanced programming and object-oriented design
Expertise in Oracle ADF, Oracle Forms, and Oracle DB
Proficient in API development, database design, and version control (e.g., Git)
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code
Skilled in system performance optimization, monitoring, and logging
Familiarity with secure coding principles and cloud technologies (AWS preferred)

What You Bring

A degree in Computer Science or related field (NQF Level 7 or equivalent)
8+ years of progressive experience in software development
Demonstrated expertise in Oracle technologies (ADF, Forms, and DB)
Strong background in system monitoring and data analytics
Certifications in Cloud (AWS), Agile methodologies, or Java/Oracle/Salesforce technologies will be an added advantage
