Serial Chipinge Rapist And Robber Slapped With A 75-Year Jail Sentence

A serial Chipinge robber and rapist has received a harsh sentence as he was slapped with a 75-year jail sentence. This court ruling has been met with joy among Zimbabweans.

This landmark ruling has brought closure to a traumatized community, serial offender John Foroma (38) has been handed a 75-year prison sentence for multiple violent crimes including child rape and robbery.

Chilling Crime Spree Exposed in Court During Trial

The Chipinge Magistrates’ Court heard disturbing details of Foroma’s month-long crime wave that began in May 2025.

The convicted felon pleaded guilty to five counts of rape, two counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of armed robbery.

Foroma’s Victims Ordeal Revealed

Court documents describe how Foroma invaded a family home in Chief Ngungunyana area, where he sexually assaulted three sisters aged 9, 11, and 13 at knifepoint. The eldest victim endured multiple violations during the horrific attack.

In a separate incident, the predator targeted a 63-year-old grandmother, stealing her mobile phone during a violent confrontation. This crucial piece of evidence would later lead to his downfall.

Police investigators traced the stolen Hisense smartphone to Foroma, resulting in his capture on June 15. The recovered device provided conclusive evidence linking him to multiple crimes.

Serial Rapist Handed 75-Year Jail Sentence

Magistrate Tinashe Dube handed down consecutive 15-year sentences for each sexual violence charge, plus an additional 5 years for robbery. The cumulative 75-year term ensures the dangerous offender will remain incarcerated for life.
