South African actress Stephanie Sandowns has publicly clapped back at cyberbullies after the wave of social media harassment surrounding her recent divorce from actor Hungani Ndlovu, particularly condemning attacks against an unnamed friend caught in the crossfire.
The former Scandal! Star broke her silence via Instagram, emphasising her composed approach to the situation:
“There are some things that warrant a response. This is by no means an emotionally charged response,” Stephanie explained via Instagram. “If I was going to respond from a place of how I feel, it would look very different.”
The television personality revealed she’s endured unprecedented online abuse since announcing her divorce through a joint statement with Ndlovu.

While acknowledging her own experience with harsh criticism about her roles as wife and mother, Sandows drew the line at her friend becoming collateral damage.
“It’s one thing for you to drag me, but it’s entirely different for you to pull someone into this who has nothing to do with Hungani and I’s decision. It’s so unfair that she has to deal with something she has no involvement in. You are attacking her as a person and as a mother.”
The actress highlighted the unfairness of her friend needing to avoid social platforms due to false narratives.
“You’re not just spreading lies – you’re attacking someone’s character and motherhood. This needs to stop.”
