Rachel Kolisi recently visited her hometown in Makanda (Grahamstown) for a nostalgic visit that took her back to the places that shaped her childhood.
From revisiting the stables where she spent years riding and competing to walking through her old schools and reconnecting with friends, Rachel shared heartfelt reflections about her deep affection for her hometown

Taking to her Instagram account, Rachel Kolisi has shared pictures showing her enjoying her time in her hometown.
Captioning the pictures, Rachel expressed her deep affection for Makanda, also known as Grahamstown, highlighting how the town holds a special place in her heart despite its rustic quirks like donkeys, goats, and potholes
She also extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who warmly welcomed her during her visit, saying it felt wonderful to be back home, even if only briefly.
“Makanda (Grahamstown) has my heart. No matter how many donkeys, potholes, goats, and cows are around
Thank you to every person who hosted me so beautifully — it was SO good to be home, even for a bit,” Rachel shared.

Rachel Revisits Childhood Memories in Grahamstown
In another post, Rachel also posted some pictures which included stops at her old riding club, former schools, and childhood home.
Captioning the pictures, Rachel shared that she returned to some of the most meaningful places from her childhood in Grahamstown, including the stables at the Grahamstown Riding Club where she spent years riding and competing.
She also visited her former schools, Victoria Girls’ High School and Victoria Girls’ Primary School, and reconnected with old school friends.
One of the highlights of her trip was stopping by her childhood home, a visit that left her feeling nostalgic and grateful. She added that she is already looking forward to returning again in October.
“Visited the stables where I spent years riding (Grahamstown Riding Club) and competing, my schools @vghs_2025 and Victoria Girls’ Primary School, saw some school friends, and I even managed to visit my childhood home
Can’t wait to visit again in October,” she wrote
