Position Summary
Reporting to the SBC Technical Advisor, the SBC Technical Officer will support the design, implementation, monitoring, and sustainability of behaviour change communication (BCC) strategies at the district and provincial level. This role empowers local service providers (LSPs), community structures, and stakeholders to drive long-term, gender-responsive behaviour change in communities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Capacity Building

Implement and adapt SBC strategies in line with project goals.

Train and mentor LSPs as behaviour change champions.

Conduct evidence-based monitoring and recommend adaptive changes.
2. Work Planning & Coordination
-
Lead district-level SBC work plan development and execution.

Participate in review and learning sessions with stakeholders.

Represent SBC efforts in technical and policy discussions.
3. Documentation & Learning
-
Capture lessons learned, trends, and case studies.

Facilitate “pause and reflect” sessions for adaptive programming.

Prepare timely, high-quality quarterly and annual reports.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
-
Collaborate with government, private sector, and NGOs.

Monitor policy and advocacy impacts.

Coordinate partner activities to align with SBC objectives.
5. Empowerment & Inclusion
-
Design SBC interventions that dismantle gender and social barriers.

Ensure youth and marginalized groups are meaningfully engaged.
Minimum Requirements
-
3–5 years of experience in SBC, demand generation, or international development in Zimbabwe.

Deep understanding of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, food marketing, and SBC communication models.

Proven experience with participatory, evidence-based methodologies.

Strong coordination and capacity-building skills.

Excellent communication in English and at least one local language.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
Preferred Skills
-
Experience working in both rural and urban settings.

Knowledge of formative research, pretesting, and M&E frameworks.

Familiarity with youth empowerment strategies and gender-sensitive programming.

Strong writing and interpersonal skills, with experience in reporting and storytelling.
