From Paperwork Delays to Test Rugby
Tshituka’s journey to the national team was not without challenges. Despite holding South African passports and citizenship, both he and his brother Emmanuel faced administrative delays in acquiring identity documents, which were required for national representation.
After a frustrating back-and-forth process, the siblings finally received the necessary paperwork, allowing Vincent to realise his long-held ambition.
Set for Official Test Debut Against Italy
Tshituka is now preparing for another career landmark as he has been named in an experienced match-23 by Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus for Saturday’s Castle Lager Incoming Series opener against Italy in Pretoria.
This selection means he will make his official Test debut for South Africa when he runs out against the Italians.
Speaking on Vincent Tshituka’s official test debut, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus showed full confidence in him, stating,
“Vincent has fitted into our structures really well and he showed last week that he has the potential to play Test rugby, so we are excited to see what he can do against Italy,” said Erasmus.
