The Australian Embassy is inviting eligible organisations to apply for the Direct Aid Program (DAP) – a vital initiative aimed at supporting grassroots and community-based development projects in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of Congo.

What is the Direct Aid Program (DAP)?

Funded through Australia’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) budget, the Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a flexible, small-grants program focused on supporting practical, high-impact development projects. DAP aims to deliver tangible and sustainable outcomes that align with Australia’s broader development priorities, while being driven by local communities and organisations.

The program seeks to empower non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community-based groups, and other not-for-profit entities to deliver direct, immediate, and meaningful change at the grassroots level. Whether it’s improving access to clean water, enhancing livelihoods, or supporting health and education initiatives, DAP is committed to making a difference where it matters most.

Who Can Apply?

DAP funding is open to not-for-profit community groups and NGOs operating in the eligible countries listed above. Applicants must be engaged in development activities that serve disadvantaged or vulnerable populations and demonstrate strong potential for positive impact.
