A man who is based in Victoria Falls is in trouble with the law after he bites another man’s nose in a brutal assault.
The accused allegedly attacked Nkosiyenzile Gumede, also 22, in a July 3rd confrontation at Lukunguni Village near Jambezi.
Court proceedings revealed that Ndebele arrived at the victim’s residence early in the morning, accusing Gumede of spreading rumours about him. What began as a verbal confrontation quickly escalated into extreme violence when Ndebele reportedly began launching stones at Gumede using a catapult.

“When the victim attempted to defend himself, the situation turned even more savage as the defendant bit off a portion of the complainant’s nose,” prosecutor Portia Moyo told Magistrate Linda Dzvene.
Medical reports confirming the severe facial injuries were submitted as evidence in the case.
The magistrate determined there was sufficient evidence that Ndebele acted with clear intent to cause serious harm. The shocking nature of the assault has left the Lukunguni community reeling, with sentencing expected imminently.
Neighbor Dispute Turns Violent in Separate Incident
In an unrelated case that same week, Victoria Falls courts heard disturbing details of another assault involving two female neighbours at Jafuta compound. Thirty-year-old Siphilisiwe Ndlovu stands accused of attacking Ellen Chakanyuka with a cooking pot during a morning altercation on July 7th.

Prosecutors described how the confrontation occurred as Chakanyuka was escorting her children to school. While the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, witnesses reported seeing Ndlovu strike the victim on the head with the metal cookware.
“The accused showed clear intent to cause physical harm when she chose to use a household item as a weapon against her neighbour,” Moyo stated during proceedings. Ndlovu similarly remains in custody awaiting sentencing.
