World Vision Zimbabwe: Call for Engineering Consultancy Services for School Construction Costing Review
World Vision Zimbabwe (WVZ), Registration No. PVO 26/79, is inviting qualified and experienced consultants to submit proposals for the provision of engineering consultancy services in support of a school construction costing review. This consultancy seeks to ensure technical accuracy, financial efficiency, and value-for-money in budgeting for infrastructure projects across WVZ’s operational areas.
Purpose and Scope of the Consultancy
WVZ aims to engage a professional consultant to assist in reviewing architectural and engineering designs, preparing comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and developing a cost-effective construction model aligned with Zimbabwean standards. The consultancy will support the formulation of realistic construction budgets for classrooms, laboratory blocks, and teachers’ houses by interpreting technical drawings and advising on suitable construction models and materials.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will:

Interpret and validate technical and architectural drawings.

Prepare detailed BoQs and cost estimates using prevailing market rates.

Provide technical insights on construction materials and implementation methods.

Participate in project review and validation meetings.

Recommend cost-effective construction models and risk mitigation strategies.

Expected Deliverables

Comprehensive BoQs for various construction types.

Costed budgets and financial summaries.

A technical interpretation report of design elements.

Consultancy Period and Supervision
The assignment is scheduled for 10 working days, ending by 20 July 2025. The consultant will report to the Education Technical Advisor and coordinate with the WASH Technical Advisor and the Resource Development and Donor Engagement team.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management, and have at least 7 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Zimbabwean construction standards and prior work on donor-funded projects will be an added advantage.
