Moshe Ndiki robbed of phones & laptop worth R42 000 in attempted car hijacking

Popular South African star, former Gomora actor Moshe Ndiki is counting his lucky stars after surviving an alleged attempted car hijacking.

According to a police report, which the publication has seen, Moshe went through the ordeal on 7 January 2024 in Sandton, north of Joburg.

The actor said he was driving when he saw a car overtaking him. At the time, he thought they were e-hailing drivers, but they had their faces covered in bandanas and had guns.

He further explained that he was ordered to put his hands up and the perpetrators opened his passenger door. They allegedly took two of his iPhones and a MacBook, all of which valued at R42 000.

Fortunately, he was unharmed, and his car wasn’t taken.

When called for a comment about his ordeal, Moshe’s phone was answered by his personal assistant, who advised the publication to send Moshe questions.

They promised to speak to the publication but didn’t respond to the messages.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza said they are aware of the case recorded with them.

“Police are investigating an attempted hijacking case, and no arrests have been made as yet,” Kweza said.

In February, gospel singer Sipho Makhabane was also involved in a hijacking where thugs cleaned his bank account.

In April, Kaizer Chiefs player Luke Fleurs was killed in a botched hijacking.
