Western Cape Eskom calls for patience as it works to restore areas hit by outages due to theft & vandalism

Eskom troubles continue in some Western Cape areas as vandalism, theft, and extortion worsen in the Cape metro region, resulting in blackouts in some parts.

The utility has called for residents to be patient, as several areas are experiencing a power outage including, Harare, Endlovini, and Nkanini in Khayelitsha.

“Areas affected are Khayelitsha, Grabouw, Macassar, Somerset West, Eersterivier, Kraaifontein, Delft, Belhar, Wesbank, Sir Lowry’s Pass, and Philippi,” said Eskom’s Candice January.

“Eskom teams are working hard to restore supply to all the affected areas.”
