Rwanda Coach Amrouche Admits Knowledge Musona Gave Him Sleepless Nights Before Warriors Clash
Rwanda coach Adel Amrouche has revealed that the presence of veteran forward Knowledge Musona in Zimbabwe’s squad caused him serious concern before their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Amrouche admitted that Musona’s track record and ability to change a game at any moment kept him on edge in the build-up to the fixture.
“When I saw Knowledge Musona on the pitch, I couldn’t sleep because I know that man can make the difference at any time. I was happy when I saw him playing a bit deeper,” Amrouche said.

Relief at Midfield Deployment
Musona, who has long been regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s most dangerous attackers, surprisingly operated in a midfield role throughout the match.
This tactical shift appeared to ease Amrouche’s worries, as Rwanda went on to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over the Warriors in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C clash.

Amrouche also highlighted the overall strength of the Warriors, acknowledging that their individual talent made them a formidable opponent.
“But when you play Zimbabwe, with all the individual quality they have, it’s always something to be afraid of. And Knowledge, for me, is the best individual player on the continent,” he said.
Confidence in His Own Squad
Despite his respect for Musona and the Warriors, the Rwandan coach stressed that his side entered the game with a clear strategy tailored to their strengths.
“Of course, we came into this game with a different approach, knowing the quality of my players,” Amrouche concluded.
