Wicknell Chivayo has pledged to donate ten brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser ICU ambulances, each valued at US$90,000, to government general hospitals across Zimbabwe’s ten provincial capitals.
The gesture, announced on his X account, is meant to honour President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 82nd birthday.
Enhancing Healthcare Delivery
Wicknell Chivayo described the donation as a way of supporting the government’s ongoing efforts to renovate and equip provincial hospitals.
He said the ambulances would help strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure that critical patients in provincial centres receive timely medical attention.
“I am also very pleased to donate 10 brand-new top of the range , state of the art TOYOTA LANDCRUISER (ICU) AMBULANCE valued at USD 90 000 which i kindly and respectfully request should be handed over to the government GENERAL HOSPITAL in each Provincial Capital in honour of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s 82nd birthday,” Wicknell Chivayo wrote.

Gesture Linked to Munhumutapa Day
The businessman tied the pledge to Munhumutapa Day celebrations, which he said were an opportunity to “honour unsung heroes” while also showing appreciation for President Mnangagwa’s leadership.
Wicknell Chivayo added that the handover of the ambulances would depend on the President’s approval.
“All this is only possible subject to approval by the Principal who will determine the subsequent handover.”
Broader Donation Package
The ambulances are part of a larger donation that also includes ten Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXRs, each valued at US$190,000, and US$100,000 in cash for every ZANU PF provincial chairperson.
Wicknell Chivayo said the gesture was his way of recognising their contribution to the party’s organisational strength.
