Arrest Warrant Issued For Afro-Fusion Artist Mbeu After He Caused An Accident In January

An arrest warrant has been issued for Afro-fusion artist Mbeu after he caused an accident in January due to negligent driving.

Popular Zimbabwean Afro-fusion artist Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora finds himself in legal trouble after the police issued an arrest warrant related to a car accident that occurred on January 1, 2025.

The warrant comes after months of unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter privately with the other driver involved in the collision.

Arrest Warrant Issued For Mbeu For Negligent Driving

The incident occurred at Harare Drive and Borrowdale Road, where Mbeu’s Toyota Aqua allegedly collided with a Peugeot 407 driven by Patikayi Murisa. Murisa said all attempts to reach an amicable settlement with the musician proved fruitless over the past five months.

I didn’t know him in person until the day of the accident and, as a celebrity, it was my wish that he would cooperate.

Communication Breakdown Complicates Resolution

Murisa detailed how initial attempts to contact Mbeu directly failed, with the musician reportedly claiming health issues immediately after the accident. Subsequent efforts to reach him through his wife, Faith Mashami, allegedly proved equally unsuccessful after she claimed they were no longer together.

WhatsApp messages reviewed by the Herald show how Mashami was redirecting Murisa to contact Mbeu directly, stating they were no longer cohabiting. Murisa maintains he made numerous good-faith attempts to resolve the matter before resorting to legal channels.

He later referred me to his wife, Faith Mashami, who then claimed that she was no longer with Mbeu.

Following the issuance of the arrest warrant, Mbeu has reportedly agreed to meet with Murisa at Highlands Police Station. When contacted for comment, the “Mavanga” hitmaker acknowledged the pending meeting and stated discussions were ongoing.

The accident made headlines in January when Mbeu shared his experience on social media, describing it as a near-fatal incident that occurred just before his child’s birthday. His emotional post thanked God for survival and promised to make the most of his “second chance.”
