Arrest Warrant Issued For Kikky Badass After Hiding A Car In Court-Ordered Attachment

Hip hop artist and social media personality Christabel Stembeni Mahlungwa, popularly known as Kikky Badass, finds herself in legal jeopardy after allegedly concealing a car subject to court-ordered attachment.

Defamation Lawsuit Takes Dramatic Turn

The High Court Civil Division has escalated proceedings against the entertainer following her failure to comply with a $18,000 judgment debt. Court documents reveal Mahlungwa attempted to shield her Toyota Aqua (registration AGS 2268) from seizure by falsely claiming ownership belonged to her sister, Ropafadzo Everjoy Mahlungwa.

This legal battle stems from a 2023 Instagram post where Kikky Badass publicly accused prominent Masvingo attorney Rodney Saratoga Makausi of inappropriate sexual advances. The viral allegations prompted Makausi to file a $500,000 defamation suit, later adjusted to $60,000, before the court awarded $18,000 in damages.

Court Dismisses Ownership Claims

In a July 28 ruling, Justice Chipetiwa dismissed the artist’s ownership defense, noting critical inconsistencies in submitted documentation. Court records showed conflicting seller affidavits and no proof of the defendant’s claimed foreign residence.

“The claimant failed to explain how two different individuals allegedly sold her the same vehicle,” the judgment read. “When property faces judicial attachment, clear evidence of ownership must be presented – a burden not met in this case.”

Attempts to recover the vehicle on February 27 proved unsuccessful when law enforcement discovered the Toyota Aqua missing from its registered address. The Sheriff’s office subsequently filed criminal charges (RRB 6507875) at Ruwa Police Station, as concealing attached property violates Zimbabwean law.

The original writ of execution, issued January 24, 2025, authorised seizure of movable assets to satisfy the $18,000 debt plus 5% annual interest from December 2024. Makausi’s legal team emphasised the damage to their client’s reputation as a Seventh Day Adventist, family man, and legal professional in Masvingo’s tight-knit community.

Default Judgment Consequences

Court records indicate Kikky Badass failed to participate in critical proceedings, neglecting to file Pre-Trial Conference documents or attend the October 1, 2024 hearing. The artist’s earlier attempt to dismiss the case – arguing USD damages were impermissible – was rejected by the court.
