A dumped lover rapes his ex’s Grade 5 daughter twice in Dzivarasekwa as an act of revenge for her mother ditching him.
Authorities in Harare are searching for a Dzivaresekwa man suspected of sexually assaulting his former girlfriend’s primary school-aged daughter on two separate occasions.
The suspect, identified only as Blessing, allegedly targeted the child after the termination of his relationship with her mother.
Dumped Lover Rapes His Ex’s Grade 5 Daughter Twice
The initial attack reportedly occurred on the evening of August 2, 2025, when the Grade 5 student was collecting water from a communal borehole. Police reports indicate the accused forcibly took the minor to an unfinished nearby structure where the assault took place.

Following the incident, the suspect allegedly attempted to silence the victim with a monetary offer, which she refused.
Shockingly, the pattern repeated on August 10 when the child left her home to gather plastic materials to start a fire. The perpetrator allegedly seized her again at approximately 8 PM, committing a second violation at the same location before fleeing the scene.
Mother Discovers The Crime And Makes Police Report
The victim’s mother became suspicious upon noticing physical evidence and immediately reported to Dzivaresekwa Police Station. Medical examination was conducted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
Harare police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the active manhunt:
“We’re investigating consecutive sexual assaults on a juvenile by her mother’s former partner. The suspect remains at large, and we urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.”

Authorities have intensified efforts to locate the fugitive while providing support services to the affected family. This case has intensified the growing concerns about retaliatory violence against women and children following relationship dissolutions. In a recent case, another woman was killed after she rejected a man’s romantic advances.
