According to prominent Egyptian journalist Abu Al-Maati Zaki, Mosimane has laid out his terms for taking the job. Speaking on the Star of the Masses YouTube channel, Zaki claimed:
“Zamalek contacted Mosimane to coach the team in the coming period, succeeding the Portuguese Jose Peseiro. The South African asked for a salary of $180,000 (approximately R3.2 million) to agree to coach Zamalek, in addition to granting him full authority to manage all the team’s affairs.”
If confirmed, these demands would position Mosimane among the highest-paid coaches in African club football, underlining the value placed on his tactical acumen and leadership.
A Return to Egypt on the Cards?
Mosimane’s potential return to Egyptian football would be a headline-grabbing move, particularly considering his previous success at Al Ahly—Zamalek’s fierce rivals.
