She carried 5-year-old Pretty through flames to safety, broke a window to help 10-year-old Nigel escape, and retrieved terrified 2-year-old Nishas from beneath a bed.

Medical Challenges and Family’s Plea for Support

The heroic rescue came at tremendous personal cost. Choice and young Pretty sustained the most severe injuries, requiring specialised burn treatment, including skin grafting procedures at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.

The family faces significant financial hardship, with daily medication costs reaching $30 for Pretty alone. Choice’s parents, caring for multiple grandchildren while managing health issues of their own, have appealed to the public for assistance with mounting medical expenses.

Moved by the family’s plight, the Zimbabwe Republic Police Manicaland Women’s Network has made essential donations, including blankets, clothing, furniture, household goods, partial medical coverage, and food supplies, to support the displaced family.
