Hulk Hogan’s Wife Confirms Wrestling Legend Had Health Struggles Before His Death
WWE icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71, and now his wife, Sky Daily, has opened up about the health problems he was facing in the lead-up to his death on Thursday morning in Florida.
Although authorities have not yet officially confirmed the cause of death, TMZ reported that Hogan went into cardiac arrest.
Following the news, Sky shared an emotional message on Instagram. She said Hogan had been battling health issues for some time, but she truly believed he would pull through.
“I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces,” she wrote. “He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”
She ended her message by asking for prayers and privacy, saying she finds comfort in God.
“He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home. Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.”
A Daily Mail report cited a source who said Hogan had been experiencing shortness of breath, was constantly fatigued, had lost a significant amount of weight, and was on oxygen in his final days. He had also recently undergone major heart surgery.
Police were called to his Clearwater, Florida, home on Thursday morning, where they reportedly found Hogan in the middle of a serious medical emergency.
Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan was one of the most legendary names in professional wrestling, known for his larger-than-life persona and groundbreaking career. He later transitioned into Hollywood, appearing in movies and reality TV.
He is survived by his wife, Sky, and two children, Brooke and Nick Hogan.
