The fraud case against Electoral Commission (IEC) Commissioner Dr Nomsa Masuku has been postponed to November 7 for further investigation.
Masuku made a brief appearance at the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today. The former Standard Bank employee was arrested by the Hawks in June this year.
She is facing charges of fraud, theft and money laundering amounting to more than a million rand. She is accused of depositing funds from a corporate social investment programme, Adopt a School Trust, while she was employed at Standard Bank.
It is alleged that she abused her position to award scholarships to friends and family members, with some of the monies deposited directly into her personal bank account.
