Mother Returns From Church Service To Find 3 Children, 6, 6 And 9, Dead

A Redcliff mother’s world was shattered on Friday evening. She returned from a church service to an unimaginable horror. She found her three young children dead inside their home. A suspected electrical fault is being blamed for the tragedy.

ZBC News reports that officials from the Redcliff Municipality confirmed the devastating news. The children were identified as nine-year-old and six-year-old twins.

A Community Plunged Into Mourning

The quiet suburb was rocked by the news. Neighbours and relatives gathered at the scene, weeping and consoling each other.  Redcliff Municipality spokesperson, Mr Michael Magoronga, pointed to a dangerous and illegal electrical setup as the likely cause.

Mr Magoronga stated:

“We can confirm a tragic incident where three minors lost their lives due to a suspected electrical fault. Preliminary assessments indicate the fault was a result of alleged illegal wiring at the property. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and the entire community during this difficult time.”

The sole survivor, another child, was rushed to a local medical facility. They are being treated for injuries sustained in the same incident.

A Chilling Historical Echo

The tragedy is made even more haunting by a heartbreaking piece of family history. Reports indicate that the children’s father died in a similar way. He reportedly succumbed to an electrical fault at his workplace three years ago. This detail has added a layer of deep sorrow and disbelief to the community’s grief. A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed the collective anguish.

They said:

“Hazvisi nyaya here? (Is this not tragic?) To lose a husband and then all your children to the same thing? We are crying with her. We are praying for her. The pain is too much to bear.”

Investigation by local authorities is ongoing. They are working to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the electrical fault.

The mother is currently receiving counselling and support from her church and community. The nation is now mourning with a woman who has lost her entire family in the most tragic of circumstances.
