MultiChoice Warns DStv Subscribers of Door-to-Door Scam

MultiChoice has issued a strong warning to DStv customers about a scam targeting unsuspecting households. The broadcaster says it has received worrying reports of fraudsters pretending to be DStv employees, going door-to-door to trick people into giving up personal information.

In a public statement, MultiChoice confirmed that these fake representatives are claiming to conduct customer surveys but are actually fishing for private details. The company said this scam puts customers’ safety and privacy at serious risk.

MultiChoice made it clear that they never send staff to people’s homes to gather personal information. They emphasised that all official DStv surveys happen through trusted and secure channels, such as verified online platforms and formal communication methods.

They urged customers to be extra careful and not to trust anyone who shows up claiming to be from DStv. The company stressed that customers should never share personal information with unverified individuals at their doorstep.

. The notice reads:

“MultiChoice has been made aware of a serious and concerning scam directly impacting the safety and privacy of our valued DStv customers.

All official DStv surveys are exclusively carried out through our established and secure platforms, which include our verified digital channels and official communication methods.
