Freed from Chikurubi: Oscar Pambuka Seeks ‘Prudent’ Wife

Oscar Pambuka, the former news anchor and politician, recently took to Facebook to share his unique prayer. He is seeking a new wife as part of what he calls “God’s Restoration” after his release from Chikurubi Maximum Prison earlier this year.

Taking to  his Facebook page, Pambuka shared a very detailed list of what he expects in his new wife,

“God I pray for a prudent wife as part of the Restoration. Please no Mickey Mouse character God but someone who loves Oscar to the fullest and can handle my energy in all aspects. I also ask for someone who speaks English fluently and has travelled a lot regionally and internationally.

“This ideal candidate should be able to handle a diamond like me and not treat me like bronze. She should know different types of meals not Sadza Sadza Sadza and should never apply any cosmetics.

“This woman should never leave her flesh open for all to see and lustfully meditate but should act like she does not have anything whilst she is loaded wena. Whenever I wake up I want to see her clean and she must have a sweet voice not a wrestler type of voice.

“Academia is not important but should be a good reader and cook. Virginity is not important but I am not looking for someone tired and experienced intimately.”
I can go on and on with my thoughts but a prudent wife comes from you God.”

Community Reactions

Pambuka’s heartfelt post garnered various reactions from friends and followers. Hastings Nyadombo commented, “It’s a strong prayer that one, though it looks funny somehow kkkkkkk. May the dear Lord hear your prayer, man.”

Sthae Msumba added, “A man who knows what he wants can lead a home and the community. May your prayers be answered, big bro. Keep confessing it; it will happen. #restoration”

Apst Liberty Vengesa expressed, “Amen! May God grant you a prudent wife who embodies all the wonderful qualities you’ve mentioned. May your partnership be blessed with love, understanding, and growth. #TheRestoration #Faith #PartnershipsForGood”

Rosadudzai Chakanyuka said, “At least you are being specific; definitely, God will grant you the desires of your heart.”

Pambuka’s Release from Prison

Pambuka is now free after the High Court quashed his conviction and sentence following an appeal. He had been serving a thirty-month sentence for defrauding Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) in a public relations deal worth over US$12,000.

Initially, his appeal was denied in January 2023, leading to his imprisonment. Alongside former Highfield MP Psychology Maziwisa, Pambuka was found guilty of defrauding ZPC in 2018. However, they were both granted bail pending their appeal.

In September 2022, the High Court upheld their conviction, and Pambuka was sentenced to serve 30 months in jail. He faced another fraud case in January 2023, leading to his imprisonment by High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda.

Fraudulent Deal Details

Pambuka and Maziwisa had secured a public relations tender through their company, Fruitful Communications, billing US$12,000 for unperformed work. ZPC already had its own public relations department. Harare magistrate Lazini Ncube initially sentenced them to six years and five months, but the term was conditionally suspended, requiring them to serve two years and six months.

Former Energy Minister Samuel Undenge, who facilitated their engagement, was also found guilty of criminal abuse of office. He received a four-year sentence, later reduced to 36 months.

High Court Ruling

Oscar Pambuka’s release followed a successful appeal by his lawyer, Panashe Sagwete. Justices Pisirayi Kwenda and Benjamin Chikowero overturned his conviction and sentence.

Pambuka is now focused on finding his ideal partner as part of his personal and spiritual restoration journey.
