The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced the payment dates for August 2025 social grants.

SASSA has released the schedule for social grant disbursements for the month of August 2025:
- Older Persons Grant: Monday, 5 August 2025
- Disability Grant: Tuesday, 6 August 2025
- Children’s Grant: Wednesday, 7 August 2025
The agency has advised beneficiaries to avoid rushing to collection points on the first day, as the money will remain available in their accounts until accessed.

No General Suspensions of Grants, Says SASSA
Amid rising concerns among beneficiaries, SASSA has issued a public statement confirming that no social grants have been suspended. While delays may occur in individual cases during routine reviews or verification processes, the agency emphasized that this does not mean grants have been cancelled.
“We urge beneficiaries to ignore misinformation. Grants remain in place, and only specific cases under review may experience temporary delays,” SASSA stated.
