The family argument over the alleged theft of green maize culminated in a fatal assault, leaving the community in shock and two men on the run from law enforcement. This incident occurred in Kapori Village, Kanyemba and has irrevocably torn a family apart.

Authorities confirmed that 35-year-old Arumasau Onias Kadziyanike succumbed to injuries sustained during a violent confrontation with his two younger brothers on August 20. The suspects, identified as Alfred Kadziyanike (22) and Gilbert Kadziyanike (25), allegedly launched a brutal attack on their elder sibling after he accused them of pilfering from his crop field.

Siblings Assault Elder Brother To Death While Accusing Him Of Stealing Green Mealies

Initial reports from investigators indicate that a seemingly simple agricultural dispute sparked the tragedy. What began as a verbal confrontation over the missing green mealies rapidly escalated into a physical altercation.

The two suspects were angry at their older brother whom they accused of stealing maize from their garden. They ganged up and began beating the now deceased while throwing accusations at him. The ensuing violence proved fatal for Arumasau, who passed away on August 21.

Suspects Flee as Police Launch Manhunt

Following the assault, the two younger Kadziyanike brothers allegedly fled the scene. A source close to the investigation confirmed that a police manhunt is currently underway to locate and apprehend the two suspects, who remain at large.

The ZRP are looking for information that will help them capture the two brothers. They are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of the younger Kadziyanike brothers so that they can be held accountable for the murder of their big brother.
