‘The US dollar is doomed’: Americans Praise Zimbabwe for Launching New Gold-Backed Currency ZiG

Zimbabwe’s new currency, Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), has received praise from the international community, including Americans, on X (formerly Twitter).

Zimbabwe Introduces ZiG

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe took a significant step last Friday by introducing a new “structured currency” backed by gold. The aim is to address the country’s skyrocketing inflation and stabilize its struggling economy, which has faced numerous challenges in the past.

Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), the newly launched currency, will be supported by a combination of foreign currencies, gold, and precious minerals.

Americans, World Praise ZiG

While opinions among Zimbabweans remain divided, with some supporting the new currency and others expressing scepticism, the world has come out in support of the ZiG. Individuals from all over the world praised Zimbabwe’s new currency and pointed out how the United States will likely sponsor a coup in the not-so-distant future or launch an invasion similar to Iraq in a bid to maintain the world dominance of the US dollar.

Bank Balances Converted, ZiG Banknotes in Circulation Soon

In the meantime, bank balances were converted into the new currency over the weekend, and customers will have 21 days to do the same. The new ZiG banknotes will enter circulation at the end of this month, as announced by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
