Accused Smash Window, Steal and Flee
The court heard that just before midnight on July 21, the accused — Hlophani Siziba (35), Unity Moreleni (38), and Prince Chinhomba (35) — approached the home of Thandolwenkosi Ncube.
Prosecutor Audrey Kufandikanwe told the court that they smashed her bedroom window and stole a Samsung Galaxy A2 Core, a comforter blanket, and US$50.
“The complainant was awakened by the noise when the accused broke her window. Upon investigating, she realised her belongings were missing,” said Kufandikanwe.
Police Recover Items — But Cash Still Missing
Following a swift police response, the suspects were arrested and some of the stolen property was recovered. The cellphone and blanket were returned to the complainant, but the US$50 remains unaccounted for.
One Confesses, Two Maintain Innocence
During their court appearance, Siziba admitted to the crime, pleading guilty. His co-accused, however, denied involvement.
All three men were remanded in custody and are expected back in court on Friday.
