ZACC Cracks Down On Highlanders FC Headquaters For A Financial Investigation

Zimbabwe’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) conducted an unannounced operation at the administrative offices of Highlanders Football Club on Thursday, initiating a formal inquiry into suspected financial misconduct related to player transfers and fund management.

The law enforcement action has created tension within the historic football organisation, with club executives maintaining silence regarding the investigation’s specifics or potential consequences for the team.

While official statements remain limited, insider information reveals that anti-corruption agents are examining multiple questionable financial transactions that have alarmed both club management and the team’s devoted fan base in recent months.

Acting Highlanders CEO Kindman Ndlovu acknowledged ZACC’s presence at the club premises, stating the organisation is fully cooperating with investigators. All additional inquiries were redirected to club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe.

Recently, Fans called for ZACC to hold an investigation into the financial state of the club. This came after there was an exodus of CEO for the club in the past year.  The players had not been paid for a long time and recently, Wicknell Chivayo gave the club a substantial windfall of cash. Players were paid their pending salaries and bonuses.
