Consul-General Eria Phiri emphasised that this outreach will utilise Zimbabwe’s existing passport application system, requiring applicants to submit forms for processing in Zimbabwe with subsequent collection arrangements. Services will be provided strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bongani Mazwi Mkwananzi of ZimCommunitySA praised the initiative while suggesting enhanced collaboration with local organisations to improve outreach effectiveness.
“These mobile services address significant challenges our community faces in accessing consular services,” Mkwananzi noted.

Consulate officials warned against fraudulent individuals posing as agents. “We operate directly without intermediaries,” stressed Consul-General Phiri, urging citizens to only engage with authorised personnel at designated venues.
This program represents Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to serve its diaspora community more effectively, particularly those facing logistical challenges in accessing traditional consular services.
