A Season of Records and Redemption

Makarawu’s endorsement deal caps a stellar year on the track. In June, he led a Zimbabwean 1–2 finish at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, clocking a personal best of 19.84 seconds to win the men’s 200m final. The time not only shattered his own national record but also became the second fastest in the world this year and ranked 7th-best in NCAA history.

Running from lane nine, Makarawu used his outer lane to his advantage, storming ahead from the curve and never looking back.

Earlier in March, he also claimed gold at the NCAA Indoor 200m Championship, silencing critics who doubted his fitness after injuries disrupted his 2024 season.

Following a sixth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Makarawu has made it clear that his next target is a podium finish at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September.
