ZRP Launches Manhunt After 85-Year-Old Man Is Struck With An Axe For Rejecting A Woman’s Intimate Advances

The ZRP has launched a manhunt after an 85-year-old man who was working as a caretaker was struck with an axe for rejecting a woman’s intimacy advances.

Authorities are searching for a woman who allegedly attacked an elderly property caretaker with an axe after he refused her sexual demands in a shocking incident that occurred this past weekend.

According to police reports, the violent altercation took place around 5 PM on August 10 at a residential property in Kensington. Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, Bulawayo police spokesperson, confirmed the suspect entered the octogenarian’s living quarters and made inappropriate advances before turning violent when rejected.

“The victim sustained a severe neck wound when the assailant grabbed a nearby axe and struck him once on the right side of his neck,” Inspector Msebele stated.

Emergency services transported the injured man to a medical facility, where he received treatment for the deep laceration.

Police have not disclosed the relationship between the victim and his alleged attacker, but confirm they were acquainted. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.

Authorities Advocate for Peaceful Conflict Resolution After Similar Case in Kwekwe

This disturbing event follows another gender-based violence case in Kwekwe, where two men allegedly murdered a 40-year-old woman for similar reasons. Police arrested Thembinkosi Ndlovu (22) and Nkosinomusa Moyo (24) in connection with the fatal attack at Mutegude Shops, Redcliff.

Investigators report that the victim, Rosemary Diana, was brutally beaten with a cooking utensil and stabbed in the back after declining romantic advances from one of the suspects. The dual incidents have prompted law enforcement officials to remind citizens about proper conflict resolution methods.

“We strongly encourage the public to seek peaceful solutions to disagreements and report threats before they escalate to violence,” Inspector Msebele emphasised during a press briefing about both cases.
