Haulage Truck Swerved Into Oncoming Lane
Although authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the cause, initial reports suggest that a Honda Fit may have sparked the deadly chain of events.
The smaller vehicle allegedly veered into the path of the haulage truck, prompting the driver to swerve suddenly into the opposite lane.
In a tragic twist, the truck reportedly collided head-on with an oncoming commuter omnibus, dragging and crushing it beneath its weight.
Rescue Efforts Underway
Emergency services rushed to the scene and managed to pull three critically injured individuals from the wreckage. They were immediately transported to the nearest hospital.
The impact was so severe that the kombi was completely flattened.
Witnesses at the scene described the aftermath as “carnage,” with twisted metal, shattered glass, and body parts scattered across the tarmac.
Firefighters and paramedics are still working at the scene, trying to retrieve bodies and clear the debris.
Road Closed as Families Gather at the Scene
Seke Road has been temporarily closed as police, fire services, and ambulance teams continue with recovery efforts.
